Sorry, your having difficulty. I think maqybe planning before hand some positive thoughts and things to do to distract you when an unexpected craving comes helps. If you dont prepare beforehand than the only thing left for you to do is think about a cigarette. A suggestion I use: Cut straws into cigarette sized pieces and put them in your mouth and pretend they are a cigarette but everytime you suck to inhale remind yourself you are inhaling fresh air instead of nasty chemicals that when you exhale smoke only 10 percent of what you exhale comes out the rest stick to your lungs!! ew!!! Hi Jess. I can help you out here because I did the exact same thing you are doing now. For a couple of weeks, around the 50 day mark, I was going insane. I wanted to give up so bad. I posted something like what you just did. Everyone told me to hang in there and that it would pass. I hung out here all the time and I really thought I would totally lose it all, my quit and my mind. That point was like the final stand of the nicodemon. I remember it so well. It lasted what seemed like forever but I hung on and I toughed it out. Guess what? I won! One morning I woke up and I felt so free. As quickly as it came, it was gone. I was fine and that was the turning point for me in my quit. It was at that point that I knew I could beat this horrible addiction. You are almost there Jess. Don't give up now. That morning that you wake up and everything is good again is a wonderful feeling. Jess, your subconscious might have been relating to the pizza/soda/hanging out as a memory of an earlier pleasant time with friends. And poof! There's a trigger. I had that happen to me on a brand new porch we had built. Six months after my quit, we were sitting there for the first time enjoying it, and suddenly I was wanting a smoke! The only way I could explain it was to go back into the past to other times of sitting and relaxing and visiting. Try to see it as the addiction's last gasp to try to hook you back in by using your subconscious to dredge up old and pleasant memories related to smoking. It's just a brain-trick.
