Breaking Free, it might be helpful if you make a list of milestones and what rewards would be good for when you reach them. I did this in my quit journal: Daily reward: Sit outside for 15 minutes alone and really let go. Weekly reward: (Pick one) Go to a wonderful shop -- books, candles, etc -- and browse. At one month: New gear for walking - shoes, pedometer, socks, heart rate monitor. At six weeks: Redo my guest bathroom with new towels, shower curtain, etc...all new colors. I found that scheduling my rewards ahead of time seemed more deliberate and seemed more like rewards. However there are still times when I say to myself "Hmmmm, I've been good...time for a Chai Latte." BF, You are nearly at 3 Weeks - nice work! What if you reward yourself by giving your kids something that maybe you couldn't do with them as a smoker. Save up to take them to the zoo or an amusement park? You'll be amazed how much more enjoyable it is when you don't have to dart out to smoke every 1/2 hour! Or what about paying for a sitter so that you and hubby can go out alone? You'll come up with some good stuff... Breaking, You can come up with inexpensive rewards as well as some that you can save up for! Choose something that you have wanted to do with you family or with your spouse or even by yourself. A reward doesn't have to be extravagant, but it has to be meaningful to you! Make a list and choose something from it when you have reached a milestone :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
