I feel like I have the flu (weak, lightheaded, confused, etc). I am on day 6 of my quit. Is this to be expected? How long does this phase last? Thanks...

Thanks for all the info. I quit cold turkey on a whim so I guess I was not prepared for all this. I am feeling better, my acid refulx has gone away, I no longer cough, etc. I just need to get through these withdrawals... Thanks!

I had the same symtoms!! The 1st week: I was lost, forgetful, dizzy and tired. On the 2nd week: I had sore throat, flu like symtoms, sore neck muscles and my mouth, gums and tongue hurt. I am almost 4 weeks and feel soooo much better. Now just dealing with emotional stuff and anxiety. Your body is getting rid of toxins, expect some uncomfort. Always check with your Doctor if something gets really bad. I have already been there 2x's since my quit!!! Hang in there is get better and it sure is worth it!!! Don't ever feel sorry for asking questions! That's what we're here for! Yes, those are definitely withdrawal symptoms... they are caused by the carbom monoxide leaving your body. Carbon monoxide is a poison, so this is definitely a good thing! Hang in there... it should be gone soon. Drink lots of water and juice. The water flushes the toxins out and the juice keeps your blood/sugar levels high. This should help. Hope you feel better soon. Crave the Quit! Golly---you may actually be sick. What you described sounds like some withdrawel symptoms, but if you're feverish you may be sick. I sure do hope you feel better soon. Let us know...

Errodr, These all sound like withdrawal symptoms as a result of your quit, if it persists or worsens, see your doctor. Be kind to yourself and get lots of rest. Feel better soon. Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Withdrawal can be a trip. There is so many things that take place. I have felt spaced out, nervous, dizzy, acid reflux, you name it's happen. But everyone says stay the course and it will get better and I am going to hold them to it. :p Glad you are here.
