Thanks for all the feedback. I know how I feel about it...you either smoke or you don't. But I just kinda wanted to get the thoughts of the others around here. So I am sitting here thinking. I am a little sleep deprived since I have a sick kiddo. So maybe my thoughts are silly right now, but this is what I wonder. Are we always considered "smokers", now that we are on the road to freedom from this addiction. You know when some one is recovering from alcoholism, they are always considered a recovering alcoholic??? I am just wondering why society doesn't see smoking as a more detrimental habit. When I was in the first week of my quit I was trying to explain the way I felt to my mom...I told her that if I was recovering from Alcohol or Drugs I would be in rehab with help to get through the withdrawal symptoms...and have a support system on hand all the time during the first part of my recovery. She did not seem to understand, but then again why would sheshe has never smoked. Well I have found my support group and I am glad that I am not in rehab...but I just don't think people understand the power of the addiction that we are dealing with. In my opinion it might even be worse than some of the others...you can smoke all the time, you can buy them anywhere...you can smoke in your car while driving...it is a bad disease. Okay that is enough thinking for now...have a great day. I guess we each have to speak for ourselves, but as far as I'm concerned, I am not a smoker just because I once was. However, I must always remember that I'm just one puff away from the risk of going back to where I was before I quit. Those are good thoughts, pink!
