I went to the wake last night, but had to cover the phones at work today because everyone else went to the funeral. They worked with Fred for 30 years, me - 3 years, so I stayed at work. The funeral was at 2pm today. Right about that time Fred got a phone call. Without thinking I said he died and promptly burst into tears. That poor woman who called, she just wanted a referance for one of his former employees. I am so sad. If you are on the fence about quitting all I have to say is this. It just not worth it guys, don't do this to yourself, it is an ugly undignified, horrible disease causing habit. Oh Sue, I'm so sorry you are hurting. Through you and your caring heart, Fred was able to impact lives across the world. That's a pretty impressive legacy. I'm sure he will be remembered for so much more than the addiction that claimed him. Lets all make that true in our own lives as well. My prayers are with you and Fred's family. Thank you Sue. Thanks for sharing such a private moment. There really are no words one can say when you lose someone you love..... but I can tell you that by sharing this story you (and Fred) may have saved some lives. My thoughts are with you, your husband, and Fred's family. Sue, I'm sorry you've suffered so much in such a short time. My prayers are with Fred's family, you, and everyone else who was affected...he looks like a very nice guy, he has a great smile even in the face of so much pain...I hope you will treasure all the good memories you have of him. Let us know if we can help you in any way....

Sue, I just saw this. My thoughts are with you & Fred's family, may they have peace now. I noticed the date of your orignial post. Aug 30th. Thats three months of suffering that Fred has gone through, I am glad that his suffering is over. Death is a part of living, it happens every day, but sometimes, by the time it comes, it is a blessing. Remember the good times with him. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 266 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,650 Amount Saved: $2,806.30 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 13 Mins: 39 Seconds: 0
