Xena, I remember wanting to "see" some results too! There is a list of when things occur in your body and I was obsessed with reading that every few days to see what was going on! I will bump it for you. Just stay excited and committed with your quit. Time will fly by and you will start to see new things everyday. Some good, some strange, but it is definately all worth it! Thank you! You got me tearing up... yeah you're all special but i think it's also a sign of withdrawals. Thanks martha. I never drink water... but with all the things you've all been saying about it i found one with just a bit of strawberry flavor in it and i love it. Thanks Kelly. I have looked great for the past few years! Funny but so far it's my tongue that looks and feels different. Pink again and much thinner. Bear,I love your name!I'm looking forward to the good stuff! Just feels strange cause I was hoping my pink cheeks and energy would show up by now! Lainy,Foggy brain describes exactly how i feel! my skin "feels" softer but I look like a truck ran over my face! Just didn't expect to look worse then I did when I smoked. Thanks Unhooked. Thanks for the party too! Lin my sweet friend! you're right i do need some vitamins and sups. I think I was just hoping for a quick change in me. Lizzie, I am trying to be good to myself.I stayed in bed for an hour this morning. And I haven't done that in a long time. Thanks Daniel. Just didn't expect myself to look and feel worse. But you;re right. Thanks Sullydog. Looking forward to the 3 weeks being over. (((John)))). Thank you!My boys are so happy about it. I've been doing a lot more with them, going for walks and doing lots of baking. Not so sure they're happy about my mood this week though! Thanks for the congrats Carlos. You;ve got a beautiful family. Xena, It takes longer than a week. You've probably been smoking for a few years and it will take some time for your body to regain its balance and repair all the damage smoking introduced. Hang in there. It gets better. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hi Xena, Congratulations on 1 week! That's a huge step - you are on your journey towards recovery. Your body is in massive de-tox and recovery mode - it takes a lot out of you, so be nice and kind to yourself. Sweetie kicking any addiction is hard on the body and no you dont feel and look better immediately just because you quite smoking, it all takes time. Congrats on that first tough week, Xena. It will get easier soon. I'm with kelly & Lainey, about 3 weeks till I felt noticeably better & WAY better actually. Also about 3 weeks before I noticed real changes in my skin, hair & eyes. The water, the listening to your body, the pampering, all true & necesary. Also, make sure you reward yourself regularly and whenever you feel you've had a victory. Like at the end of hell week, for instance. Hang in, Xena, and Xena's friend. You will be so glad you did. Xena, Kelly's right, its about three weeks and then the foggy head and tiredness starts to lift. It is mentally and physically exhausting, which is why some members will tell you to pamper yourself, go to bed early, take time off work if you can, etc. etc. But check carefully Exena, you may notice that your skin is softer and clearer, your eyes are clearer, the black circles are probably from tiredness and it also takes a while for the sinuses to clear. When you think of how long most of us poured nicotine into every cell of our bodies, it isn't a surprise that it will take a bit to recover. So pamper yourself, as much as you can. You are recovering from a nasty addiction and your body does need rest and good nutrition. Lots of water really helps too! Hang in there, and congrats on getting hell week over with! You're on your way. It does get better! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 222 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,550 Amount Saved: $2,342.10 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 4 Mins: 54 Seconds: 8
