Hi Bugg, I wanted to quit for the freedom, for health, to get rid of the stigma and the smell and the expense - yada, yada, yada. Tools used were straws, lemon drops, ice water and a BIG dose of the SSC - oh, and lots of virtual chocolate ice cream. Determination: I was absolutely determined not to let myself or my quit buddies down. It was time. I posted this ages ago...thanks to RDman for bringing it forward once! ~lbugg~ MOTIVATIONS to quit are children, family, our own health and well-being, finances, freedom, etc. TOOLS for quitting are NRT's, wellbutrin, hard candies, straws, ice water, deep breathing, the SSC, real life support, etc. How well we use the TOOLS we choose while keeping our MOTIVATIONS in mind is key to a quit. Throw in a little DETERMINATION and we can do it! MOTIVATION + TOOLS + DETERMINATION = SUCCESSFUL QUIT Look at this way...if I wanted to build a new house, I wouldn't just pin the sketch of it to the wall and expect it to build itself. I would have to figure out what tools I needed and be determined to work hard and go through alot to make sure that in time, it would be built.
