Hi Machiavelli,

Yes, keep focusing on one day at a time and reward yourself for how far you've come!  Your smoke-free days will add up, your health and sense of well-being will continue to improve while the more difficult and challenging times will diminish.  Remember - Not One Puff Ever!
Here for you,

I'm having the reverse experience; this month has been relatively easy compared to last month. In my case, I think it is because I have been pretty busy. No time to sit and think about smoking.

...And at the end of the day, I'm grateful for 2 things: 1) that my thoughts haven't been interrupted by the nagging/ demanding of physical addiction and 2) that I haven't wasted time going out to smoke.

I hope you find something good and fun to keep your mind and body occupied. Regardless of how you spend your time, it's got to be way more fun and way less ridiculous than smoking. Hang in there. It will get better.

Hi Machiavelli!!
I am on month 4 also..I am not sure why it seems harder some days more than others, but later that same day or maybe in the next few minutes or the next day it begins to get easier again..Remember it is only temporary it always gets better..Always gets better, Always gets better..Always get better..Remember this because it is true and you know this is true..Challenge the Negative Junkie Thoughts because that is all the are and They Are Not True...

You are stronger than the addiction and you know this is true.

Hey Machiavelli!!!

It took you many years to get to this point!  I remember well the many times you came back to try to kick your demon's ash!  Your demon IS getting weaker and weaker as every day goes by!!!  You are through the absolute WORSE part of quitting, I promise!

Keep on taking it one day at a time!  You just have to remember that you ARE a non-smoker now and that you can NEVER have another cigarette!  It's N.O.P.E. every day now for the rest of your life!  Positive Mental Attitude, buddy!!!  Celebrate every day and continue to reward  yourself, OK?

          You're doing great... celebrate!

Hi Machiavelli,

Try not to focus on how hard it is now, focus on how far you have come! You are doing amazing. Just keep it up and soon it won't be so hard.

When you feel it's becoming hard how do you distract yourself from thinking about it?

Hi Mach

I'm only on my 24th day so I can't offer much advice, but I sometimes feel like the more days I get in, the harder it feels to do.  But we just need to stay strong and we will get through this. I just keep reminding myself that eventually it will have to get easier, and hopefully a whole hour will pass without thinking about it!  You can do it, you have too much time in to turn back now!
