Its scary when you dream that you have smoked,  this has been happening to me and I really thought that I did smoke,  I thought that I might have slept walked and smoked that how real it felt,  the nicotine plays bad tricks on our minds.  I have been a non- smoker for 12 days now Yay
The smoking relapse dreams are pretty common, from what I understand. Like other withdrawal symptoms, they fade with time. But they still will pop up once in a while. My friend who quit over 5 years ago says she might have a smoking relapse dream about once a year these days. She says it always ends with her saying, "Oh, ----! Now I have to start quitting all over again." Then she wakes up and is happy that it's only a dream.

I think the best way to look at it is to focus on that grateful feeling upon waking, when you realize that you are, indeed, still nicotine free.

Wow Daisy that must be a scary dream, glad it hasn't happened to me :(

Found this it might help some folks view dreams differently:
From Keep Quit by Terry Rustin:  Dreams are a natural part of sleep; they occur every 90 minutes or so throughout the night and are associated with rapid back-and-forth movements of the eyes beneath closed lids. (REM) Dreaming sleep is disrupted by addicting drugs, especially alcohol, Valium, cocaine and nicotine. In early recovery from addiction to these drugs, there is usually an increase in the intensity and frequency of dreams, called "REM rebound". These dreams may be vivid and threatening; they are often about using the chemical, and the dreamer may awaken believing the dream was real. The dreams often recur, night after night. Since many of these dreams are disturbing and interrupt sleep, people often want to stop having them; however, REM rebound appears to be the way the brain readjusts itself to being without chemicals. REM rebound cannot be avoided and shouldn't be; it means that your brain is healing.

I have certainly been having very vivid dreams including seeing others smoke, but none where I smoked.

Today, Day 28, I pledge Not to Smoke; my Clean Air mission is fully underway!
