i am just tired now...nothing to bad though...i can't wait until i feel better though...how many mg's did you start out at? i am definitley calmer but my anxiety is still there..i worry about side effects and everyday i am constantly aware of every little thing my body does....so here i am at day 7...do you ever sign into instant messanger?
Hi Mya
I'm the one who is on paxil.. For me the medication took about a month to balance itself out. I've had great success with it for the most part.
Now that you're on it - congrats for being so brave. The first pill was the hardest..
I was quite sick to my stomach that first month as I tried to find the dose right for me. So the nausea is very normal. I actually lost a bit of weight too... but I perservered through those first few weeks and am very thankful I did.
Meds are tricky.. I've only ever taken paxil so I can't share any other experiences. I'm currently changing my dose as I was trying to wean but my hormones went crazy after baby #2..lol... and have had to increase it again. Even with that change I've been sick to my stomach etc. My anxiety was also quite bad for some time before I admitted I couldn't wean.. ugh... But hey.. I'd rather be happy and live a productive life ;)
You're doing great..and if you have any other questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them.
i felt funny a few hours after taking it too..really spacy...the pharmacist said that it was most likely my anxiety playing it up...today is day 7..i never thought i would make it this far!
Two hours after taking it i went really funny but i expected that . First day my stomach was awful but didnt really mind that as i knew i was on new meds .
But i didnt sleep for three complete nights , even tried in the day and couldnt that i couldnt handle .
Way to go you ar nearly half way the two weeks it takes to kick in :) .
Yes i know how hard that first pill is to take , infact it was you posting you did it that made me take mine . I had quite a bad reaction to them in the end !! So i will be taking a new one tommorrow have forgot what its called as i havnt picked it up from the chemist yet but i will .
Congrats in making it to day 6!!
SSRI's take about 2 to 4 weeks to actually start working. It is uncomfortable at first but I got adjusted to mine in about a week. When I took my meds, then, I wasn't afraid of taking the meds, but I was more relieved in getting some type of treatment. Make sure you write down all that you are feeling, mentally, and physically when you start meds and let your doctor know. I've read how medication symptoms can be altered by the dosage too. (Make sure it's not too strong for you.) Anyway, you made it this far! Congrats.
Mya,
Many here have struggled with starting or stopping medications. In general, most medications of this nature take time to build a therapeutic level in your system. As it does, the effect it produces becomes more pronounced and stable.
Hang in there!
