Hey Dori!

One other thing that I just noticed looking at your quit meter... your financial freedom!  34 days quit and you've saved over $400... less the cost of rewards and NRT's!  It's pretty hard for me to believe that cigarettes cost that much now!  You were looking at 2 for a dollar!!!  Whew!!!

Keep up the great quit you have going!!

Freedom from every waking, and some times sleeping minute, being controlled by the urge for my next fix.  Freedom from people's negative comments about smoking.  Freedom from the stink in my hair, car, house, etc.  The list of positives just goes on and on.  I'm not completely free of nicotine a I'm usong NRTs but at leat I'm not getting the 100s of other chemicals and I'm slowly slowly weaning myself off the NRTs too.

Hey Island!

Yes, definitely Freedom from the addiction!  I was a SLAVE to cigarettes for over 37 years and it took MANY attempts to escape the grasp of my captor!  Being free from the addiction is empowering and the journey has been enlightening!  In my mind I have completed that journey and have learned enough to know that I will never, ever become enslaved again!!!

Hi Island, One thing is, freedom from this addiction has freed up a lot of time (and grey matter!)  for so many other things in life. My mind is free to ponder other matters aside from always worrying whether or not I will be able to get my next nicotine fix on time.

1) It's another step towards financial freedom for me. One less "fixed" expense in my life. ('Course I am spending some of the savings on other stuff with monthly fees, but I'm still coming out ahead, so I guess that's good.)
2) Freedom from the constant need to maintain nicotine levels.

A word used a lot, but what does it mean to you?  How does quitting smoking relate to the ideas of freedom you have?
