Slowing the anxiety demon within by switching hands

Hi Davit,
My brother was taking mom out for brunch, so I have valuable time to myself.  So much to do, so little time.

Hi hugs4U,

Was your feeling of being wired due to excitement, anxiety, both?
Deep breathing is excellent for grounding yourself and slowing or stopping racing thoughts.  Take time to focus on deep belly breathing, inhaling and exhaling slowly.
Similar to switching hands when using your computer mouse, switching hands when brushing your teeth is a good strategy - forcing you to focus on movements that are not familiar and habitual to you.
Looking forward to hearing more about your news with regards to caregiving..

What do you mean, someone is going to relieve you?

I just felt wired this morning, and all night, since someone was going to relieve me of caregiving.

My mind couldn't turn off.  I found that if I just switched hands with my computer mouse, it slowed my thoughts down, since I had to focus on co-ordinating with my left hand, versus my right hand.

I wonder if others have tricks to get grounded?
