Hi Maribel and Laken. Have you made your decision?

Maribel, you and I have a lot in common. I am going back to school and have been bouncing around from one medically-related tract to another. One minute I want to be a dentist, the next a nurse anesthetist, etc. And like you said, it all boils down to what you want to be when you grow up. I can't think of a heavier, more difficult decision. If you find any solutions, please let me know, because I could use the advice.

Hi, Maribel. Welcome. There are some career tests out there that guidance counsellors use. Universities and colleges offer them to students. You can ask about it at the Registrar's office. (Find out also which careers have a high burnout rate, the kind that would not help your depression. Social workers, nursing and law enforcement, for instance rank higher, I believe, though you could check out that kind of thing with the counsellors) Some factors in a choice you make might be to consider what type of employment and working conditions you would most likely encounter after graduation. For instance, would you be expected to work all holidays and weekends? What kinds of hours or shift work might be enbtailed? What about the salary and chances of advancement? Which type of job offers benefits? It might help to speak to someone who's emplyed in a situation you are thinking of entering. Hope this helps. All the best.

I don't know which road to take at this point. It's a question of "What do you want to be when you grow up"? i have two pathways. Either go for School Psychology or Physician Assistant...I have no idea which would be the best for me. I have always had trouble in making decisions, but need to make one quick. Anyone experienced out there will hopefully share some experience on the topic of how to chose?? The reason I don't know is because I originally started to study as a Pre-Med student, but got stuck in the Organic Chemistry. I suffered an episode of depression at the time, wouldn't get out of bed, though thte world was going to end, so I moved out of the situation. Now, I'm enrolled in school, but don't know how to go about choosing the right path for myself. Please help. Thank you in advance. :quest:
