Shelvie, You've made me laugh...I used to be an avid bowler...winter/summer leagues for over 12 years..but then quit when you could no longer smoke inside...was too much of a hassle to go outside to smoke and get back indoors before it was your turn up again...not to mention if if was raining outdoors and heaven if you got your shoes wet :-) :8o: My bowling ball has been in retirement for the past few years..but now that you mention it....I could get back into it...no longer a problem with the smoking....question now is...can my arm handle a 14lb ball?? Hi all, I got really into tennis during the 94 US Open, then life and it's business got in the way and I hadn't played much since. I did buy a raquet a few years ago but life interfered again. Actually, smoking was probably a large part of the interference. Not enough time for recreation or sports with all the smoking going on. So, since I've quit this time *50 days so far - Woo Hoo!* I've bought a new raquet and have been hitting the practice wall at the City College courts. I can already get a good 40 minutes out of myself at high noon or shortly after. I was amazed at how hard it was the first time I went out again about a week ago. I've gone back several times and each time I can really FEEL my body waking up from the pollution I fed it for so long. Sweating it out feels good. I haven't lost any weight yet and I might not if it all turns into muscle. That would be fine with me. This is one of the best things I could have done for myself. I highly recommend tennis therapy to anyone who can still run and swing something at a moving object. One great part is that you can get started for under $50. Big 5 has the hook-up! No I don't work there, but I saved $90 on my raquet, hence the endorsement. May the Quit be with us. -carpepax My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 405 Amount Saved: $507.5 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 1 Mins: 43 Seconds: 23

That's fantastic, Carpepax. :) For me it's bowling (inside, air conditioned). A neighboring town is smoke-free everywhere and they have a pretty nice alley there. My wife and I went there a week ago to bowl with our agility club. We have our own balls and used to bowl in my (ex)company's league. When we opened our bags we found score sheets from the last time ... 1993. So we bowled that evening and again on the 3rd (5 games both times). Yeah, we're sore! :gasp: Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 408 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,174 Amount Saved: $1550.4 Life Gained: Days: 76 Hrs: 4 Mins: 46 Seconds: 16
