Hello folks, I was hoping that at my age (28), I would be a veteran at panic attacks. However, they are so sporatic that it drives me nuts. I found a common pattern of my anxiety when I become very exhausted or stressed. What usually triggers it is when I cannot control my own body. For example, if I have the stomach flu, it makes me anxious to feel nausious or vomit. I get to the point that I can no longer control my body and I feel very anxious about it. My bowels go crazy and then I feel that I am losing my mind! I just wish that my mind wouldn't race as much. For my treatment, I take 30mg of Paxil/day and when the anxiety is unbearable, I take a little bit of Xanax. However, I do not want to rely on medication, I have tried to come off it with very poor results. I have a great therapist and we are working on some exposure therapy. However, does any one out there feel that they have the "problem" licked and then...panic just creeps up on you? Suggestions?
