Monica,
Great idea, I hadn't tried that, but will next time. One thing I did start doing (and my kids are making fun of me) is while I'm running around picking up the kitchen, I turn on classical music (never in my life have I ever consistently listened to classical music), but it keeps me calm and it's not associated in any way with smoking. Thanks for the visualizations!!

Today I really needed to breathe deeply -- in and out over and over.. and with the use of a variety of images, it truly gets me through the withdrawals!

Here's one more image I pull up when I'm needing to relax my mind and my body. This one signifies FREEDOM for me ...

I often use visualization with my deep breathing exercises to help me through a major crave..
Here's one of mine...

When I close my eyes and breathe deeply in and out this image often comes to mind and it calms me down :)

Hi Monica58,
I think it's a great idea and use an image I remember from the start of a cross country camping trip I made many years ago. It brings with it memories of optimism and success.
I use this image or another similar one when I do my own relaxation talks, but when I use a recorded exercise I just do as the speaker instructs.
Thanks for sharing your pretty picture with us.

That's interesting, Monica. Thanks for sharing.
I also practice deep breathing. However, when breathing in and out slowly, I follw the air movement, note all the feelings and sensations, specially around the chest area ... Very soothing & relaxing! :)
Cheers,
nmc

Great coping tool, Monica. I could see that working. Finding that happy, safe spot in your mind and staying there til the worst is over. Nice work! Cheers, Jan
