Pain in centre of chest???

19 років тому 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi, hello everyone....... Just wondered if anyone else was getting a pain right in the centre of their chest, right in the middle where the ribs join? I can only describe it as having "sore lungs" but my boyfriend assures me that there are no pain reseptors in the lungs. I don't think i've pulled a muscle and its in the wrong place for it to be my heart (i think). I've had this feeling before, eg.. been out drinking and smoked more than usual, next day had the same "sore lungs" feeling. I've not smoked in three days but i feel like ive been out on a bender! Any ideas, or should i see my doctor?

Hi clrleeds, I had a similar experience on my second day without smoking and it really scared me for a while. It felt like I was having some kind of spasm just under my ribs. It eased up toward the evening and hasn't returned. I think what happened to me was that I was taking too many deep breaths and I wasn't used to it. Since I was going cold turkey, I'd do deep breathing every time I craved a smoke. That was when it would hurt. I hope you're OK. Please post back and let us know. Good luck with your quit! I did have breif moments of pain, as you described. But they went away afetr some deep breaths .... Did you practice deep breathing ? It's very helpful during the quitting process ... Any way, as Josie right said, "you should check with your doctor when it comes to chest pains to rule out anything medical". A feeling of not being able to get a big enough breath??? of hurting when you attempt to?? and yes, a feeling of tenderness or soreness in your chest??? these can be symptoms of withdrawal....of course they could conceivably be something else....so go see your doctor for reassurance....you don't need worry and stress about something being wrong at this point. Whatever you do don't let your thinking tell you that smoking will make you feel better! Hang tough and keep kickin butt. the withdrawal WILL pass. clr, This is a symptom and may be part of your quit. We always suggest that you check with your doctor when it comes to chest pains to rule out anything medical. Congrats on 3 days, you doing great! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
