Faith, How good it is to hear from you and to know you are keeping the freedom. Congratulations on 9 months!!! Quitting really is a process after all and it does take time for us to become comfortable being smoke free. Maybe you were just having a few "labor" pains? Breathing really is a great tool, thanks for reminding me to use it. Email when you have time please... Much (((Magic luv and huggs))) :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 159 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,360 Amount Saved: $2,226.00 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 19 Mins: 38 Seconds: 37

Faith, my friend! Always so good to hear from you! Glad to hear you are doing well, and handling those THOUGHTS with your usual grace and style (and wine and chocolate helps, too!) Thanks FaithFreedom! Good to see you! Yes we do tend to forget to keep our tools with us sometimes! Thanks for the reminder! I stepped away from the SSC for awhile -- really needed a break, so I focused on other important things in my life. But it was good tonight to step in and see some old familiar names and SO many new quitters! Way to go, gang! This site is tremendously helpful, as I know you've all figured out. I want to share something I just recently discovered about my quit -- after 9 months, I've found myself feeling extremely edgy and jittery lately. Thoughts (that's THOUGHTS, not cravings, mind you) of smoking were intruding more often and I hated it. I will NOT smoke -- NOPE remains my motto, but I was a bit puzzled as to these very uncomfortable feelings. Then I sat back and started to focus on my breathing again -- what a difference! What I want to say, I guess, is that the breathing exercises, slow, deep breaths helped me so much in the beginning. I'm shocked that I completely forgot about its benefits lately. So, BREATHE, and don't forget it when things get a little rough. Keep the faith, all!
