I was thinking, "how do we fight something like this?" and realized that there probably aren't really too many people who would be willing to fight it at all. I mean, the government obviously isn't concerned. Non-smokers can't really relate for the most part, so, I doubt it would be a huge priority or concern for most of them. Smokers certainly don't want to fight it because then they would have to think about all the ill effects smoking has had on them which would in turn make it almost impossible to smoke enjoyably. So, it appears the only group in which you would get a significant amount of support would be the ex-smokers; those of us who are no longer bound by the addiction and are still angry that we were ever tricked into becoming addicted in the first place. Pretty sad. I'm not saying it couldn't be done. Just saying it would be a significant battle. Yeah, get mad & get even by not smoking Read on if you dare ..... Tobacco companies have been increasing the nicotine levels in cigarettes with Brands most popular with young people and minorities registering the biggest increases and highest nicotine content. One particular tobacco giant also acknowledged it used ammonia as one of the many methods to boost the absorption of nicotine, it's all designed to get the drug to the brain that much faster, which makes it more addictive. Tobacco giants play hardball ! retaliation to anti-smoking legislation but the funny thing is - Governments need the trillions of $$ from tobacco sales, i would say it's a political interest to keep tobacco sales up. All i can say is stop smoking while you still can My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 993 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 34,755 Amount Saved: $6,454.50 Life Gained: Days: 141 Hrs: 22 Mins: 57 Seconds: 50

A report was published by the Massachusetts Department of Health that said that tobacco companies have QUIETLY increased the amount of nicotine in cigarettes by 10% over the past six years making it harder for people to quit and easier to get hooked. How sneaky is that? The finding means that health care providers trying to help smokers quit habit are going to have to increase the strength of nicotine replacement therapies in order to get them to work. Which would be nice for health care providers to know seeing that these people are being paid to help you quit. But that is just the point isnt it? The tobacco industry doesnt really want you to quit smoking. Which is no big surprise!! Saying that they actually want you to quit is like a pharmaceutical company saying that they actually want to see a world where no one is sick. Think about it and get mad.
