Hey DDH and welcome!

Reading here was probably the best distraction that I could find and eventually I just couldn't help but start supporting my fellow quit buddies!  Yell if you need us and don't forget to reward yourself for the milestones you achieve!

AWESOME job............The first week(Hell Week) Quit is the hardest and you're done with it.  Second week is called Heck week and the drug is all out of your system if you are a cold turkey Quitter.  It does get easier as time goes on.
Be sure to use the reward system....it works and is necessary for your brain to feel less and less addictive.  After a while you'll have times that you don't even think about smoking.....it's very nice that way.
Stay Strong......your addict does NOT like losing and does NOT play fair.....It will jump you when you least expect it.  Keep saying N.O.P.E........it really does work.

Keeping the Quit

This place is a great resource and a real boost, everyone has such a great attitude and its nice to read through the forums of what other people have gone through. Its always easier to carry a heavy load when there are others helping out.
THANKS again for everyone's continued input, it makes for encouraging reading.

DDH, like I told mamma, just remember that these temporary inconveniences from quitting smoking (withdrawals, cravings, urges, etc. will reduce over time) and the permanent improvement (being smoke free) is WONDERFUL!  Congratulations on your success!  Keep taking it one day at a time and you'll go far!

Congrats on the quit. Been over a week for me as well. Things have had their ups and downs, but I take comfort in the fact that the hard times are getting fewer and further apart.
