Aloha, sorry that you had some triggers. But your experience will pull you through. You know they don't last and it's a good reminder where we've been. Keep up the good work. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Usually they are just thoughts these days, but for some reason they have a bit stronger this weekend. Not craves, but definitely urges. Not that I will smoke, just uncomfortable. I asked my sons' roommate and his girlfriend to take their smokes with them last night, just in case. That is something I have never done before. It will pass. I actually appreciate being presented with these triggers because once I get through them successfully I know they have lost their power. Good to hear that eventually most of you stop being triggered. I think I will get there eventually. I'm with Pen and Marie...I don't have those anymore. And I hope what Brenna said isn't true...that these may be with you the rest of your life. Thoughts are one thing...we all have thoughts of things that we wouldn't really do. But a thought isn't a craving...not unless we name it that. There will always be triggers, but they are fewer and fewer and easier and easier to deal with Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 543 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,231 Amount Saved: $3,529.50 Life Gained: Days: 72 Hrs: 2 Mins: 32 Seconds: 31

Aloha, I have gone through all of the seasons! Wow, I just realized that - I haven't had any triggers lately. Oh, wait. Last weekend I got frustrated with my husband. In the past the first thing I would do is run to the garage, now I just deal with being frustrated.... You will be fine my friend! Speaking of friends, we seem to be missing Unhooked around here. Where is that nut? I had a similar experience, just last week. My husband & I had a 2 hour drive to a funeral. (I never smoked in the car with him.) I kept having the feeling that we needed to make a stop, although I did not have to go to the "potty". In the old days, I would have made my husband stop at least twice for me to take a smoke break. He always thought I had an overactive bladder but I really just made up the excuse that I had to go, so that I could sneak a smoke. He did say, "wow, honey, stopping smoking has really improved your bladder health!" ;) Everyday is a learning experience! Alohakeia, These cravings may be with you for the rest of your life. Some ex-smokers say they still get urges 20 years down the road. Nicotine is a very powerful addictions that can take years to get over. In your past life as a smoker, you said you always rushed to have a cigarette after an extended plane ride and this is probably why you experienced those cravings last night. Think back to when you were first quitting and how you coped with those cravings. And just remember, NOPE! Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

Yes Aloha, I've noted a couple relating to the season. The nervous and anxious feelings I get associated with one of my least favorite activities on Earth, shopping, sent me a minor crave or two recently. I did nothing for the craves and there's nothing I can do about the shopping, the craves past right on by like they do. I used to medicate myself when feeling this way and my body is mildly reminding me. It's just too easy anymore, NOPE!
