Depression

Hi Janna, Do NOT be alarmed, my dear. As Sparky said, this in normal. When we smoke, it fills our blood with carbon monoxide (you know, the poison gas from car fumes). So, when our blood circulates to the different parts of our bodies, it delivers not only the life giving oxygen, but also the poisonous carbon monoxide. Now, that you do not smoke, your brain is getting much MORE oxygen, causing you to be spacey, unable to concentrate. Your brain has to get used to all that good oxygen. And, as far as depression, yikes, there are alot of threads discussing depression on this site. I suffer from it at times. That is normal also. Just DO NOT let it turn into an excuse to smoke again. Smoking numbs our emotions, so we have to learn to FEEL our emotions now, instead of numbing them witn nicotine (ie, get mad, smoke, get glad, smoke, get stressed, smoke). And we also have to learn how to express ourselves instead of just clamming up with a cigarette. Oh, this is a journey allright. But, in the long run, a wonderful journey to freedom from addiction. Be soooo thankful that you are quitting in your 30's. Good for you. It will get easier. Just hang tough and be positive. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 576 Amount Saved: $120.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 7 Seconds: 55

Janna, what you are feeling is normal. I couldn't put two sentences together some days. Depression is normal. Go look in a mirror and tell it to go to he!! and take a deep breath and laugh at it. Turn on some good music and take a dance around the room. You are doing great and you are so normal. I don't know what is going on today, but I feel so out of it. I am almost loopy and I feel really depressed. It is a little scary. I am usually a very sharp witted person and I feel completely out of it like I couldn't make the simplest of decisions right now. Is this normal? Help guys, this is scaring me a little bit. Did anybody else go through this?
